Take Time to be Holy

A word from a friend brought to my attention this song. I looked up the words and I found them to be quite a deep sermon apart from the music. Sometimes we just sing the syllables and do not listen to the words. And this is quite apart from the fact that many churches do not sing hymns. The psalmist does say in a number of psalms sing to the lord a new song, but we did not throw out the book of psalms did we? Maybe we no longer sing the psalms as they did but the words do not get old. Ruminate on these words they are quite a sermon for this busy culture.

Words: William D. Longstaff, 1882.

Take time to be holy, speak oft with thy Lord;
Abide in Him always, and feed on His Word.
Make friends of God's children, help those who are weak,
Forgetting in nothing His blessing to seek.

Take time to be holy, the world rushes on;
Spend much time in secret, with Jesus alone.
By looking to Jesus, like Him thou shalt be;
Thy friends in thy conduct His likeness shall see.

Take time to be holy, let Him be thy Guide;
And run not before Him, whatever betide.
In joy or in sorrow, still follow the Lord,
And, looking to Jesus, still trust in His Word.

Take time to be holy, be calm in thy soul,
Each thought and each motive beneath His control.
Thus led by His Spirit to fountains of love,
Thou soon shalt be fitted for service above.

Sabbath peace, and bless God on this wonderful day He has made.

Under the Overpass

This book Under the Overpass has been a real help and a real eye opener for me. I have been going on the homeless ministry on Tuesday and this book has helped me see my heart towards these people, I will more readily talk and listen to these people, I will have a different attitude toward those people from now on. This book has opened my eyes to my own selfishness, or lack of concern for the people of the streets. This book opened my eyes to the fact that there can be homeless people “the least of these” that are Christians. I will have more of the fear of God in my heart and that is always a good thing. That part in the book about the guy that told the guys to leave the Church has shown me to be careful not to think differently about those people when I am not doing homeless ministry.

A Call for a New Reformation

Are you wheat? Are you tares? Do you have oil in your lamp? The time is running out to fill your lamp. It is time to stop taking the middle ground. Choose today who you will serve, and serve wholeheartedly. If you choose the world and its gods serve with all your might. If you choose God, then serve Him as if you believe He is God! Do you not know that Christians will be judged for what they do and do not do? Repent!

Are your garments spotless? Are your hands clean? Is your mouth clean? If Jesus came today for his bride would you be like the foolish virgins? Would you even be virgins? Stop whoring after the world. Turn to Yeshua for salvation. What are you saved from? Are you saved from sin? Are you saved from Lust? Are you saved from hell? Are you saved from God? What are you saved from?

I sound the alarm for all to hear, if anyone has ears let him hear.

I David do write these 35 theses calling all of Christendom to consider the issues and concerns here brought to your attention.

Whereas.

1. “Christian” has fallen in love with the world.(1 John 2:15)
2. "Christian" looks like the world, thinks like the world, and acts like the world. (Romans 12:2)
3. “Christian” and even "born again" is synonymous with hypocrite. (Matthew 23:25-28) click to see full article

Apologetics- Evidence For Christ's Deity

"This is a quick video on a key evidence for Christ's diety by a famous and well-respected former atheist. Did you know 11 out of the 12 disciples of Jesus Christ were tortured and killed for their beliefs? They were martyrs. They were in the unique position to know for sure if Christ was God or not, and yet they never denied His diety and resurrection and instead were tortured and killed. Would they have done this for a lie?"

Hebrews Chapters 9 and 10 recited by Ryan Ferguson

This is an excellent recitation of Hebrews. When I first heard it I thought to myself that it sounds much like a sermon. Not like a book.
